Kusikuy Margarita Cholita Doll
Margarita is from the Bolivian altiplano. Like the knitters who made her, she is dressed in a pollera (the traditional Bolivian skirt) and she carries a baby, Sofia, on her back. The baby is carefully swaddled and tucked into an aguayo carrying blanket.
Margarita's hair is worn in long braids (trensas) and on her feet are her albacas (a sturdy sandal made from used tires). A hand-crocheted cap helps protect Margarita from the harsh sun of the altiplano.
Each doll is individually handmade, of sturdy design, with accessories tightly sewn on. No two are exactly alike and all are a treasured gift.
Measures 6" tall. Recommended for ages 3 and older.
Materials: Natural cotton sack body with woven wool and traditional weave clothing. Hand knit hat. Braided yarn hair. Face is hand stitched and painted on. Stuffed with natural cotton cloth.
Hand made in Bolivia. Made for Kusikuy Sweatshop Free Eco-Fashion since 1997
